Prediksi Erosi dan Limpasan Permukaan pada Pola-Pola Agroforestri di Wuryantoro

Abstract (English) :
Increasing population in agriculture area caused pressure of the land. The farmers extend their land on steep slope for cash crops, consequently environmental problem such as soil erosion, sedimentation, and increasing critical land took place. Agroforestry patterns are alternative solution. The aim of the research is to investigate soil erosion and runoff from different agoforestry patterns in steep slope land with limestone parents material. Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE) is used to predict soil erosion and SCS Curve Number is used to predict surface runoff . The research is located in Wuryantoro, Wonogiri Distrct, Cenral Java Province. Agroforestry patterns are applied in area o f 600 square meter (30 m X 20 m). In each treatment is combined between trees and cash crops. The tree consists of Teak, Manggo, and Mete. The cash crops is planted based on plant season. There are three replications on each treatment and control. The control plot is represented farmer pattern in the surrounding area. The research showed that agroforestry patterns can reduce 60 % of soil erosion (from 172 ton/ha/year to 70 ton/ha/year) and reduce 53 % of surface runoff ( from 17.79 mm to 9.48 mm)
